Images of Antarctica
The first photos of sea ice and icebergs are from a helicopter ride between the McMurdo Dry Valleys and McMurdo Station in 2009. They are followed by photos from Pearce Valley, also in 2009. The later photos are from near Lake Untersee and Novolazarevskaya, Dronning Maud Land, in 2011. There are a few 2009 sea ice photos from the McMurdo area inserted in this section as well. I recorded the sound track in GarageBand. The note sequence comes from Hindemith's Sonate for flute, but I took his "Ruhiger werden" (become quiet, slow down) to an extreme and used various software instruments.
