Inside Some Buildings
So far, most of my time has been spent inside or in short walks from one building to the next. Many of the buildings don't have windows because windows let the heat out and the light in - 24 hours a day. However, the views from many windows in the Crary Science Building are fantastic. Here's the view from one of our lab windows:
And here is one of the things Ian has been working on:
It's a robot of sorts that sits on the bottom of the lake and precisely (we hope) places microelectrodes into the sediment to measure the concentration of O2 and pH. It has a new motor, and Ian hadn't set it up for a while, so he put it together in the lab and tested it. It's now back in parts in a box.
The hall of Crary reminds me of an old grade school building with pegs to hang up coats. The difference is that almost all the coats are identical:
The library is a good place to work, especially since there is coffee and tea handy. We can't have food or drinks in the lab. The lights are usually off to conserve energy, but the windows let in lots of light and have great views.

My other "home" has changed. I have a new bed in a new room. Before:
The new room shares a bathroom with one other room. It's a big improvement, but I haven't met my roommate yet. Here's the view out the window:
And here's what's usually in the window, blocking that view:
I can feel it getting colder since I took the two layers of wood and foam plus the wool blanket off. They'll have to go back in soon.
I have one more photo I'd like to share. This is the non-emergency entrance into the hospital (I hope):
